End of year list

I registered this blog name quite a while ago and then never quite got round to writing anything. So I've started with an end of year list. Obviously.

1. September Girls - Green Eyed (7" Soft Power)

2. Yellow 60s frock. Dress of the year. I could probably do a top 10 of frocks.

3. Lightships - Electric Cables (LP Geographic) This is what we had in Scotland instead of summer.

4. Gareth Williams & Mary Currie - Flaming Tunes (LP Blackest Ever Black)

5. Pastels/Aislers Set at Chickfactor 20. Edges it as gig of the year mostly by being a double bill of awesomeness.

6. William Klein/Daido Moriyama, Tate Modern. Confirms the freshness and breadth of Klein's photography and filmmaking. It's still on. Go.

7. Vic Godard, James Kirk & friends doing Velvet Underground covers at the Poetry Club. Just perfect. With scones.

8. Sacred Paws - Just Kids (off the Some Songs side-by-side compilation)

9. Chain & The Gang, CCA. True charisma.

10. "Jenny's gone to bed and the itinerary's fucked." If you can remember that, you aren't me.

Other gigs: Wild Flag, Dirty Three, Laetitia Sadier
Other records: Sea Pinks, Melody's Echo Chamber, Twerps, The Great Unwashed, Frankie Rose, The Wake (new & reissues)
Other others: Bouncy Stonehenge, navy silk 60s dress with white bands, Tim Walker at Somerset House.
